Women in the Digital Sector: Discover Exciting Careers!
A series of profiles featuring three young women in work-study programs who hold positions of responsibility in the IT sector at i-Team* in Nantes. Or, how to dispel stereotypes about women and careers in the digital field.
On the occasion of the national “Connected Women” event in Angers on November 23 and 24, 2022—of which the Group is a partner—we’re shining a spotlight on digital careers at La Poste, which are now increasingly dominated by women, through interviews with three inspiring young women, who work in roles that are as exciting as they are specialized within i-Team in Nantes.
For several years now, there have been many in-demand jobs in the digital sector. Yet even today, women remain severely underrepresented in these fields. The same is true when it comes to career changes; very few people choose to move into the digital sector. In short, one might wonder if this professional world is intimidating. Yet these jobs are fascinating! But their image is often still associated with “geeks” or difficult-to-understand jargon, and thus, unfortunately, remains very gendered in the collective imagination.
Given the challenge facing the IT sector within the La Poste Group in attracting new talent—and especially women—let’s hear in their words from three work-study students who hold positions as information systems project managers at i-Team* in the Nantes area: Jihen El Hamdi, Léa Tarot, and Margot Serna. When they were younger, they never would have imagined choosing this career path!
Through this dual account—a written interview and a video interview—they open up, share their journeys, and express their enthusiasm for the many careers in the digital field. So if they’ve chosen to pursue careers in information systems, why not you?
