Webcast of the Month: 1 Day, 1 Question!

It's common knowledge: children are curious.

But what if this curiosity were a wonderful quality? This thirst to know and understand everything about their surroundings is, in fact, a beautiful sign of open-mindedness and a promise of intelligence that inspires adults as well (one thinks in particular of the bestseller by Simon Sinek, an expert in negotiation and management, with the evocative title: “Start with Why” !).

But sometimes, even the simplest questions (like, “Why is the sky blue?”) can be incredibly hard for us adults to explain. Luckily, the YouTube channel “1 Day, 1 Question” has got us (and our kids, of course) covered! Every day, the channel sets out to answer a child’s question in exactly 1 minute and 30 seconds, using a simple yet incredibly effective teaching approach, supported by playful and insightful drawings. And the videos aren’t short on humor, even when tackling complex and not always fun topics like gender equality and diversity. “What is equality between girls and boys? ” asks Thelma, age 9; “Why do women get paid less than men?” wonders 12-year-old Olivia, or “What is sexual harassment?” asks 11-year-old Inès. No need to ask Google anymore: the answers are in the videos!
