“A Podcast of Your Own” on ARTE Radio

In the first episode of “Un podcast à soi , ” Charlotte Bienaimé describes herself as a “34-year-old white woman, a mother, heterosexual, from a privileged background in northern France.”

And also feminist, of course, since in this program—recommended by the Hubertine Auclert Center —the journalist attempts to answer the question “What does it mean to be a woman or a man?”.

As in *A Room of One’s Own*, Virginia Woolf’s seminal work, we are presented here with the reflections of a woman who dared to speak out and lay bare her thoughts and doubts.

Charlotte Bienaimé explores the concept of gender(s) and offers an approach that respects everyone’s identity: “A Podcast of Your Own” is, above all, “A Podcast for Everyone”! The podcast features women who are boxers, activists, religious figures, Black women, seniors, and people with disabilities…But it also features men who are cultivating kindness toward women… and toward themselves.

In this program, we raise awareness about the issues facing our society today—with all its complexity and contradictions—so that we can (re)gain the power to take action!
