June Editorial by Aurore Mayer: Advocating for Gender Parity Within Our Group and Beyond

As part of a Group strongly committed to equality and inclusion, the “Un Une” Parity Network has been working since its creation in 2019 to promote a culture of gender parity.

The values underpinning this Culture are now being undermined in various parts of the world by policies that seek to roll back progress, even if it means putting pressure on businesses, universities, and the media. In this context, it is more important than ever to reaffirm our commitments and strengthen our ties with other stakeholders.

As such, La Poste sought to place the issue of gender parity on the agenda of PostEurop’s Sustainable Development Days, which were held this year in Vienna. This marks a first in this forum for dialogue among European partners in our sector. This should be seen as a strong signal of a concerted effort to promote a model of strategic corporate governance in which gender diversity is fundamental.

We remain convinced that companies are better governed when they have gender-balanced leadership: it has been proven that they are more resilient in the face of uncertainty, more effective, and better at serving their customers! Now is therefore not the time to let up in our efforts to achieve gender equality. On the contrary, it is time to take action at every level—from local communities to the continental level—to demonstrate that the future of the economy and of our shared society must be inclusive.

Our network brings this ambition to life by taking action simultaneously at the local level, through all the initiatives led by our Ambassadors; at the national level, through our close collaboration with all departments of La Poste Group; and now also at the international level, as we foster dialogue with our European counterparts.

Let’s dare to set high goals and continue taking action to achieve gender parity.
