March Editorial by Aurore Mayer: March 8… And the Rest of the Year!

For nearly fifty years, the entire world has celebrated, every March 8, the progress made in women’s rights, advances toward equality, and the benefits of gender diversity. This occasion also serves as a time to reflect on the road ahead and to make commitments to accelerate this momentum.

Because March 8 is the culmination of a year-long process of preparation and implementation. Throughout the year, the support of our leaders within our Group reaffirms our high level of ambition to ensure that gender parity is a priority for all postal workers. Throughout the year, our network brings this issue to life through promising initiatives across all regions and job roles. Throughout the entire year, a shared culture of gender diversity is built, nurtured, and flourishes—as a driver of performance, as a means of enhancing quality of life at work for our employees, as a catalyst for innovation for our customers, and as a message of a progressive vision of society to our stakeholders.

Gender equality is obviously not just a women’s issue. Nor is it a matter for experts or activists alone. It is truly everyone’s concern, at the heart of our professions in all their diversity, in every region, and in every role.

Our network works every day to bring gender equality to life in the daily lives of postal workers. The efforts of our ambassadors, the leadership of our Steering Committee and our gender equality representatives, and the enthusiasm of our members are the lifeblood of a culture of gender equality that continues to flourish within our company.

I would like to take this opportunity to commend the strength of your commitment to the sweeping cultural transformation that gender parity represents.
