March Editorial by Aurore Mayer: The Goal—Collective Intelligence!
What is the purpose of gender parity? Above all, it is to achieve, across all job roles and at every level of our company, a representation of society that is as accurate as possible. It’s not about simply capturing a snapshot of diversity, but rather about fostering a dynamic mix of profiles, experiences, and perspectives… In fact, it has been scientifically proven that we are all smarter when we interact with people who are different from us.
Emile Servan-Schreiber, a researcher in collective intelligence, expands upon “the diversity theorem” formulated by James Surowiecki in his book *The Wisdom of Crowds*, which demonstrates that under certain conditions, groups make decisions that are 99% more reliable than the sum of the decisions made by individuals—even the most qualified ones—thinking in isolation. The first condition for collective intelligence is the diversity of the profiles that make up the Group.
These scientific approaches align with “Un Une”’s conviction. Together, we are more creative, stronger, and more effective. This begins with women’s full participation in leadership roles within our company. It also means that within our network, we want all entities, all business lines, and all regions to engage in dynamic dialogue to develop new solutions to the challenges of diversity and gender equality.
Your initiatives across the regions—that’s our collective intelligence in action!
So, let’s continue to come together, learn from one another, inspire each other, share ideas, lead projects, and take risks so that our network can thrive and enhance the quality of life for everyone.
